Traveling to Mexico (Tulum area)
October 23rd

Today, Herman and I headed to Belize. I wasn't expecting a lot, it was just something that I wanted to check off my list. I had watched a TV special on the Garifuna tribe that lived in Belize and I wanted to experience a tad bit of the culture. I was going to do that by spending the night in Dangriga.

Well, so much for that. It came a frog strangler on us as we were within 20 miles of Dangriga. It was just too much rain coming too quick and the sand and mud that was coming across the road spoke-up and said, come back on a safer day. We'll have to do just that................................some time or other.

Worst than that, I didn't get any decent pictures. However, the video will give you a glimpse I hope. I can say, the road felt good enough to rank in my best ever (and I've been to Alaska, Canada, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Central and South America). It had such a Viet Nam feel to it (which has been on the list to do also). I'll have to come back on another trip and complete it. For now, something says, it's not to be.

I just love the booster seat on the bicycle. It would fit my grandson perfectly. Getting him to sit still, that's another challenge.

Rolling down the highway to Belize, but still in Mexico.

The first house that I came to in Belize.

Roaming the streets of Corozal, Belize

Corozal is the first town in Belize, it didn't get any better either. Belize makes Mexico look rich.

Hugging the coastal line for a bit.
